Tips for bleached or stained towels
It can happen and it does to so many people. Bath towels and hand towels that have bleach marks and other stains from hair care products or face products on them. This can be a nightmare for any person and when you have a set of bath towels and hand towels, this can be the most irritating thing because you now have to either throw the entire set away, or just not use parts of it.
Well, there are a few other ways that you can prevent these bleach accidents and stains from ruining your good towels and bathrobes as well as body wraps wash cloths. The trick is to know your products first of all. Know which hair care products contain bleach and dyes and which face products might do this. If you are not sure, the best way to prevent your good towels from staining and getting ruined is to not use them for your pampering sessions. Use old or plain white towels if you decide to do any styling and use any new products like face masks and serums on your face.
If you are going to dye your hair make sure you use an old towel, because it will definitely get stained. You can even use an old holiday beach towel for this or a large scotch beach towel which will help you not to stain your clothes and other parts of your body that are not meant to get dye on them. If you mess up an old towel this is fine, so keep a towel aside for when you do these types of pampering. If you have already used a good towel and it is now stained, there are only a few ways that you can fix the problem. You can take the entire set and have them dyed a darker color. This will still allow you to use them as a set and will give your bathroom a whole new look. If you have bleached the towels by mistake while cleaning then this is a bit trickier. You cannot just dye them because you will still be left with a paler patch where the bleach was. The best way to try and fix them would be to bleach them all first. Make sure you use enough bleach and wear some old clothes. Once they are all bleached, you can then dye them.
The best way to save a towel after you have just spilled bleach on it is to rinse! Water will dilute the bleach and if you have a bleach gel these will not leave marks if diluted. Just cover it in water. Put the plug in the bath and soak it. Rub the bleach with the water and try to use your hands to manipulate the gel, bleached area so that it does not have time to work. This is the quickest way to preventing bleach marks on your hand towels, bath towels, holiday beach towels, scotch beach towels and even pet towels. Remember also that when you are working with bleach to rinse your hands properly too before drying them, because this may be how your hand towels get stained.
Also be careful when you have dye or bleach on a towel, so not wash it with your normal clothes or with other towels in the machine, unless you have rinsed it out thoroughly first. Even if you have, it may still be a good idea to wash the stained bath towel or hand towel separately for the first wash just to see what come out.
