Poker instead of dining

I am so tired of my boyfriend! He is a great guy, sure, but I have this stupid problem with him that I never thought should be an issue. Each time I want us to go out for a nice dinner, he is stationed at the computer, staring at some online poker room screen. I know that he loves to gamble, but I feel that he should try to prioritize me and the relationship that we are having, instead of desperately trying to win money.
It is not that he is not succeeding. Most of the time he wins more than he loses, but the time that is spent in front of that stupid computer is time that is taken from our quality time! In other words; I don’t care whether he wins enough money to take me to fancy restaurants as long as he doesn’t take me to restaurants at all. I am tired of eating alone, watching movies alone, waiting for him to get the poker playing over and done with.
I have tried to talk to his friend about this, but they are all the same. They never play against each other, but they can spend hours online chatting about different techniques and strategies. Once in a while I try to join them in one of the poker rooms, but I think poker is a boring game that is hard to understand. Also, I never, ever win.
I have decided to give my man an ultimatum. Either he takes me out to dinner at least once a week or I will not let him use the computer anymore. Because, you see, the laptop belongs to me. And even though he is winning, he doesn’t have the money to buy himself his own computer. This ultimatum might sound harsh, but you must understand that I never see my boyfriend anymore! We used to spend five days out of seven together, eating, drinking, watching movies, laughing, talking… Now I only see his back while I sit in front of the TV on my own. I am starting to feel that this relationship isn’t worth the time I am putting in it. So tonight I will let him know that it is either me or the poker. And I am going to make sure that he doesn’t read into that that he can go to the closest casino. No poker online or IRL. Or I am out of here…
