Weymouth is one of the premier seaside towns in Dorset and has been incredibly popular with tourists since the 18th Century. As there is lots of attractions available I have decided to focus on five of the best spots and these are as follows:
Weymouth Whitewater
This attraction is not for the easily frightened and is an adrenaline fueled experience that is most popular with younger people. If you like a challenge full of fun and excitement then you will revel in the strong tides and white-knuckle experience that Weymouth Whitewater has to offer, just be ready to get wet.
Brewers Quay:
If you like History then Brewers Quay is the place to go. There is the Timewalk Museum which is a fantastic voyage back through six hundred years of Weymouth’s past displaying events such as the Black Death that hit the town in the 14th Century as well as the townsfolk preparing for the onset of the Spanish Armada. There is also the old brewey building which dates back to the Victorian era and houses over twenty shops selling a assortment of specialist wares.
Sharky's Playzone
Sharky's Playzone is a great place to take the kids. It caters for children of all ages including the elder ones and even adults might fancy trying the Laserzone which is open in the evening for children 7 years and older. There is also a bar if you {{{fancy|want|feel like}} a drink as well as a varied selection of snacks and drinks for the children.
Sea Life Park
Exclusively aimed at the whole family, the Sea Life Park with its indoor and outdoor attractions will keep people from all ages fascinated. With a array of sea creatures here such as sharks, octopus, seahorses etc the Sea Life Park is a superb experience if you want to learn more about sea life.
Bennett's Water Garden:
Finally there is Bennett's water garden which is believed to have the greatest range of water lilies in Britain. Named after its planter, Norman Bennett, the garden has continued to thrive covering a massive eight acres and is a wonderful setting for a relaxing walk.
With so such a lot to see and do it is no wonder that so many tourists choose Weymouth, and I would recommend staying at this historic town if you ever get the opportunity.
