TGR Group Asia are the developers behind Jumeirah Private Island Phuket, the region’s most exclusive project scheduled for completion in 2009/2010 and set to offer levels of luxury, privacy and security as yet unseen in Asia Pacific.
TGR Group Asia develops and markets award-winning luxury hotels and resorts in Phuket. The management team has over 120 years combined experience working with leading, global construction companies and a successful track record across three continents.
Jumeirah Private Island Phuket, or Barama Bay as it was then called, was discovered in 2005 during a visit to Thailand by TGR Group Asia’s Senior Managing Partner, Edward Powis. These private resorts will include superyacht phuket, super yacht marina phuket, megayachts phuket, super yachts phuket etc.
During initial feasibility studies Edward was introduced to Mr. Dilokpol Sundaravej (Tik), working at the time as country manager for Jones Lang LaSalle. It was a perfect partnership and so the platform was in place to initiate one of the most inspirational projects seen in Thailand and resort destinations worldwide, a private island off Phuket that offered the potential for privacy and security but also great accessibility, infrastructure and natural beauty. TGR group is committed to provide the world class mega yachts phuket, superyachts phuket, superyacht phuket, megayachts phuket, new mega yacht marina phuket etc.
Edward and Tik set about developing a vision and putting together a management team that would have the expertise to develop such a project. The team commissioned some of the world’s top contractors and professionals including; Baker Tilly Thailand, Bovis Lend Lease, Bishop International, Johnson, Stokes and Master, Connell Wagner, WATG, A49 Design, and Hirsch Bedner.
Like all members of the senior management team, Edward intends to live on the island once it is completed.
The invitation-only Jumeirah Yacht Club will feature a state-of-the-art clubhouse with luxury accommodation, super yacht marina phuket, super yachts phuket, superyacht marina phuket, superyacht phuket, superyachts phuket, spa, gym and restaurants and will be host to regular regattas and exclusive Black Tie functions.
