In the beginning of the XX century scholars decided to use Roman alphabet. It is the best ABC for Turkish because it absolutely reproduces some word in script. But the reforms didn’t stop on this point. Great reconstructions were performed in the vocabulary. Linguists erased the Arabian and Persian notions. They were changed on the other terms of different Turkic nationalities. And new equivalents for the notions that didn’t exist in the language appeared.
The state statistics says that the population of Turkey consists of Turks. But many different settlers and nationalities dwell Turkey. The appearance of a Turk may change in diverse parts of Turkey. There can be blonds with blue eyes as well as burning dark-haired men. The main group of society worships of Islam. For a long time Turkish lira stays the invariable money of this country. In 1923 Ottoman Empire turned into the Republic of Turkey and this day became a people’s feast.
